Well looky, looky what I came across. This mixtape has enough dub and ja to get one through any lame work day and some. Listen or download entire album for free here (pssst! track 11 is my jam).

Wow. Last night, besides not getting home until 3:30, (yeah, this morning was rough), was absolutely massive.
- RECAP
- Yes, Le Poisson Rouge is an amazing venue. I will be attending more shows there in the future, fo’sho. Even though the show was sold out, you could still maneuver around (take notes Fillmore, pfffft!)
- I’m over trance. I am totally into this experimental, jazzy, heavy on the bass, psychedelic electronica that peeps like Flylo and NOSAJ THING are dropping, fo’real.
- Mamouns never tasted so good at 2:30am
Anyhow, back to the beats. NOSAJ THING killed it last night. He is definitely getting added to the ol’Pandora QuickMix and my ohmyrockness alerts . Flylo as expected, was the the cherry-on-top to a great evening. His new album is gonna be tiiight.

When the rock band OK Go, famous for their viral videos including the spectacular and award winning “treadmills video”, wanted to feature a 4-minute long Rube Goldberg Machine in an upcoming video, they tapped Syyn Labs to build it. The requirements were that it had to be interesting, not “overbuilt” or too technology-heavy, and easy to follow. The machine also had to be built on a shoestring budget, synchronize with beats and lyrics in the music and end on time over a 3.5 minute song, play a part of the song, and be filmed in one shot. To make things more challenging still, the space chosen was divided into two floors and the machine would use both.
Simply incredible.

I’m basically on show overload right now and just had to buy tickets to something (in addition to Washed Out). RJD2, congrats, I will be attending your show in March.
With the likes of Justice, Little Dragon, Beach House (w/ Washed Out!) and Boys Noize (w/ Major Lazer!) all playing in the coming months, I’m hoping I can survive on the budget of a freelance graphic designer.
RJD2 is a philly boy, and as luck would have it, droppin’ his beats in my hood (easy access ;) so it pretty much was a very easy decision.

My co-worker sent me this track this morning. Not much more to say that hasn’t already been said about Flying Lotus (pretty ill site) – just straight up good stuff. His video for Parisian Goldfish will forever be one of my favs of all time (no words can describe this masterpiece, a mos def ‘wtf?!’…the illness drops @3:04).
I highly recommend keeping tabs on this dude’s schedule. I was lucky enough to peep him last year at the American Museum of Natural History, awesome show.
