BEHOLD! Just in time for spring, a sneak preview of one of my posters I am planning to have for sale at BKNY. I hit up A I Friedman last night after work and picked up two 18 X 24in frames. I know the picture sucks (iPhone, pffft!), but these prints totally transformed my bedroom wall into a face.
Even though my site isn’t full operational yet, if your interested, you can pick up a set of these hand printed, stamped & numbered Wayfarer posters. They come unframed, but will fit in any standard 18 X 24in frame. They are printed on French Paper Smart White 80c. I only did a limited run of 25 sets, so get’em while they last! Email me your address and I will send you a paypal invoice for $25 (includes shipping, USA only!). They will come safely shipped in a protective tube.

Besides this past weekend’s weather being amazing, I finally had the chance to do my first official wheat paste (design, make paste, perform act). I had mentioned before that I was planning on pasting my address onto the front of my building (how it lacked a true identifying address). Well, last night after my fresh paste was done cooling, I hit my front door. My luck though, it has been soggy and wet (a wheat paste worst enemy) today, so I’m hoping it stays up until we get some sun so it can bake.
Besides that, I also had the chance to have Mr. Headhood hook my whip up with a custom ‘coolage’. Again, the rain may play a factor in how long it last, but for now it looks dope parked in my hood (if you look at second picture closely, top right, you can see miso giving her approval).
- UPDATES!
- had an impromptu photo shoot for BKNY, products should be available to buy this week!
- countdown to Flying Lotus at Le Poisson Rouge on 3/30!

I got an early start this morning (8am!). Figured I’d do some ’spring’ cleaning before my roommate returned from her spring break. I pruned and cleaned up the two boxes outside my apt windows. In the front (not sure what it is), I have a vine-like plant (comes back every year) growing which as it gets longer, cascades over the box and dangles over my building’s door. I also planted a ‘buttload of basil’. Who needs a scarecrow when you got a flamingo?
On the back fire escape (had been promising myself I would), I planted sunflowers. You can see from the seed packet they are a special ‘dwarf’ variety. I figured that the normal ones may get too tall for my back window, so I gave these a whirl instead. Hopefully they work out so I can have fresh sunflowers in my kitchen this summer. Not sure if it was a deliberate design element, but I’ really digging the horizontal hot pink rule across the top of the packet. The picture is pretty badass too.

Yesterday, besides being beautiful, was a really good day – by good, I mean really productive. The photos above are a recap of what I got done.
- Paid visit to my silkscreener to finish up my first run of shirts, I chose to run my printed label in green for the organic blanks (peep the hand stamped size, uugh!).
- I figured I might as well hang my bike to make space for my inventory and to re-organize my office/bedroom.
- Clint came over (needed to borrow his camera) and while sippin’ on some red & white dyn-o-mites (roomate’s nickname), he helped me snap some cool pics for my BKNY website. That picture is from my roof (shot with my iPhone). I came to the realization (I overlook the East River), that until the high-rise boom hits Greenpoint, I have waterfront property, holla!
All in all a great day by all means. Hopefully I can keep this productive vibe going for the rest of the week. I still have to finalize my sew-in label and finish the retail portion of my website.

Today during some of my downtime at work, I finally designed the ‘99′ I am going to wheatpaste on my building’s door in Greenpoint. I figured since my door doesn’t even have a real functioning address anyhow, I might as well help out the mailman. You’d laugh if you saw what was up there now (wish I had a picture).
I ran old and yellowed newsprint through our HUGE Canon laser printer here at work. I had to cut down the sheets so I could affix them to color laser tabloid paper (to act as a guide, either that or the newsprint jams). The 9’s came out great and I am really excited about finding the right opportunity to put them up (unfortunately the forecast this weekend is a wet one). When the time does come, I am definitely going to enlist a little help from wheatpastin’ extraordinaire Clint.
Up until now, he’s been having all the fun in my hood.
